Get started with your Chime cards

Cards included with your Chime account

When you open a Chime Account, you get a virtual card that you can use right away in the Chime app.  

If you have a Chime Card account, you also get:

  • Virtual Chime Card – a digital card available in the app right away.


Debit card

  •  Chime Visa® Debit Card - You can request a physical Chime Visa® Debit Card from the Chime app if needed.


If you have a Chime Card or Credit Builder account, you also have a secured Chime Visa® Credit Card or secured Credit Builder Visa® Credit Card.

Find your cards in the app

To view your cards and card details: 

  1. Tap Profile >  Cards.

  2. Swipe through the cards at the top of the screen.

  3. Tap Show number to see your full card number, expiration date, and CVV.

Note: If you previously used a temporary virtual Chime card, your virtual card may not appear until you update the app. Make sure you have the latest version, then check again.

Activate your physical card

You can activate your card from the Chime app on the  home screen, the Cards page, or chime.com.


From the home screen

  1. Tap the Your card has been delivered widget.

  2. Tap Activate.

  3. Enter the CVV — the 3-digit number on the back of your card.

  4. Set and confirm your PIN.


From the Cards page

  1. Tap Profile > Cards.

  2. Select your card: Checking for your debit card, or Credit Builder for your Credit Builder card.

  3. Tap Activate new card under View your card.

  4. Enter the CVV.

  5. Set and confirm your PIN.

Note: If you already set a PIN for your virtual card, that same PIN will be used for your physical card. You do not need to create a new PIN. .

Card delivery

Your estimated delivery date is in the app. Delivery times depend on when your card ships and where it is going.

Your estimated delivery date may change if the card moves faster than expected or hits a delay. Check the app for the most current estimate:

  1. Tap Profile > Cards.

  2. Swipe to select your card.


Business days exclude weekends and holidays. 

If available, you may also have the option to choose express shipping for an additional fee when requesting a replacement card in the app.


Note: If your card does not arrive after 10 business days, it may be lost in the mail. Tap Profile > Cards and follow the prompts to request a replacement.

Use your account before your card arrives

You do not need your physical card to start using your Chime account. Here are your options:


  • Virtual card — Available right away in the app under Profile > Cards. Use it for online purchases, subscriptions, and in-store payments via Apple Pay,Google Pay, or Samsung Pay.

  • Pay Anyone — Transfer money to other Chime members. Tap Pay.

  • Link to a payment app — Connect your Chime Checking Account to Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or other apps using your account and routing numbers. Find these under Profile > Account details.

  • ACH transfer — Move money to a linked external bank account. Tap Move.

  • Mail a check — Send a paper check to any merchant or biller in the US. Tap Move. 

  • Cash deposit — Deposit cash at a retail location using a barcode in the Chime app.


Get help

If you have trouble activating your card or have questions about it:

  • Go to Profile > Help Center > Chat. 

  • Call (844) 244-6363 and follow the prompts to activate by phone.

  • If the app shows an error, close it and reopen it after a few minutes.
