Manage your Chime card PIN

Set or change your PIN

  1. Tap Profile > Cards.

  2. Select the card you want to update. If you see Manage physical card, tap it to access physical card settings.

  3. Tap Reset PIN.

  4. Follow the prompts to set and confirm your new PIN.

Note: Your virtual and physical versions of the same card use the same PIN, so you only need to set or update it once. Debit Cards and Chime Cards have separate PINs.

You can also set or reset your PIN by phone. Call (844) 244-6363 and follow the prompts. Have your card nearby.


Unblock your card after wrong PIN attempts

Your card is temporarily blocked if you enter the wrong PIN three times in a row at a store or ATM. This is an automatic security measure.

You can reset your PIN immediately to unblock your card.


Verify your debit card PIN

Chime may send you an email or push notification asking you to verify your debit card PIN. If your PIN is not verified, some transactions may not go through.


Your PIN is used for:

  • ATM withdrawals.

  • Point-of-sale purchases, such as groceries, gas, and in-store shopping.

  • Cash back withdrawals over the counter.


To verify your PIN:

  1. Tap the link in the email or push notification from Chime, or open the Chime app.

  2. Tap Profile > Cards.

  3. Swipe to the card you want to verify.

  4. Scroll down and tap Manage physical card.

  5. Tap Change PIN to update and verify your PIN.

Note: Only verify your PIN through the Chime app or by phone. Chime will never ask you to verify your PIN through a third-party site or link.
